Details are not the finishing touch. They are the entire point.

The bones of this Tribeca apartment were already excellent — good proportions, well-positioned windows, sound materials. What it lacked was a soul. The client had lived with the same furniture and styling for a decade and felt that the space no longer reflected who she had become. Rather than undertaking construction or a structural redesign, we proposed something more subtle and ultimately more radical: a comprehensive restyling of the existing residence, no walls moved, no surfaces replaced. Just the transformative power of curation applied with intention. This kind of project is in some ways the most demanding we undertake — because there is nowhere to hide, and every decision is visible.

Over three months, we sourced objects, art, textiles, and plants from around the world to give the space an entirely new identity. A hand-woven Moroccan rug defined the living room's new anchor. A suite of works on paper by a contemporary Japanese artist brought the corridor to life. African blackwood bowls, antique brass candlesticks, and lengths of handmade linen introduced a layered materiality that the space had previously lacked entirely. Living plants — figs, olive trees, trailing hoyas — brought a quality of growth and change that no inanimate object can replicate. The result is a home that feels discovered rather than designed, and that surprises its owner each morning with something she hadn't noticed before.
